"A Community in Christ on the Journey of Faith"
The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League of Messiah is to assist each woman of the congregation in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
All women of Messiah are encouraged to join the LWML on the first Saturday of each month. Meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and Bible study. Planning time for projects is followed by a mission minute, which explains how our mite offerings are used to spread the message of the gospel in America and throughout the world. Coffee and snacks following each meeting are a great opportunity for fellowship with Christian women.
Some of Messiah LWML's projects include: serving funeral lunches, serving Graduation-Confirmation Banquets, provide food for special occasions at Messiah, booth for rally day, organizing the purchase of Easter Lilies and Poinsettias for the chancel, manage funds for flowers for the chancel, purchased a cow for Kenya, purchasing silverware for use at Messiah, support missionary trip to China.
At each meeting the women of the LWML bring their mite boxes with the money that they have deposited throughout the month. This money is then sent to the district and national offices to be added to the offerings of all of the LWML women.
