"A Community in Christ on the Journey of Faith"
The Board of Education shall be responsible for the ongoing faith formation process in the children of Messiah Lutheran Church through the teaching of the Word of God.
Messiah's Sunday School meets each Sunday morning from 10:30 - 11:45 am. The children gather first in the Sunday school chapel area for an opening devotion, singing, gathering our offering, prayer, and memory work. At 11:00 am the children meet in grade level classes to study God's word and apply it to their lives through Bible stories and activities. The Sunday school children sing and/or play bells in worship service once a quarter.
The VBS Task Force plans and implements the VBS program each summer. This action-packed week each summer teaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children so that believers will grow in faith as they study God's Word and unbelievers can come to the knowledge of and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
This task force is responsible for planning and rehearsing the Sunday School children's Christmas program. In this program the children of Messiah have the opportunity to tell the wonderful story of Jesus' birth to their family and friends and to the members of Messiah.
Rally Day is an annual event designated to "kick-off" the new education year for children and adults. This usually takes place the Sunday after Labor Day. Events are planned to make members and visitors aware of the worship, Bible study, and service opportunities that are available at Messiah.
The Church Library Task Force is responsible for building, maintaining and advocating the use of Messiah's church library. The church library contains resource books, children's books, Christian novels, Christian videos and DVDs and more.
Nursery Roll helps new parents connect the Word of God to their infants' life. The Nursery Roll materials give helpful information, which assists parents in beginning the faith formation process in their children.
